  1. I just got this today and I recently joined a crossfit gym. I bought it to
track calories burned while doing the WODs but also what I burn during the
day. How do I calculate how many calories I need to eat to lose weight? I
used to have the fitbit flex but it wasn’t tracking my activities as well
as I had hoped but I liked how it told me how many calories I had left to
eat. So I need help determining that. Any info would be greatly
    appreciated!!!!?

  2. can you use this to monitor your activities all day? or should you only
monitor when you are exercising? ?

  3. do you do spin classes? im looking for the best one and heard about the
polar loop but reluctant to get it…?

  4. Good review, but, remember, while you don’t burn as many calories during a
single weightlifting session as you do when doing pure cardio, you do in
fact continue to burn calories over a longer period of time post-workout
    than you do after cardio.?

  5. Hi Erica, thank you for reviewing this thoroughly. Is this product
waterproof? I would assume so because it encourages one to sweat. I sweat a
lot during my 1-2 hour cardio workouts. Also, can you wash the chest band?
How do you keep it clean without submerging in water and ruin the
electronic piece inside? Thanks in advance!?

  6. Heather, the only Polar I’ve used is the FT40 so I’m not sure how it would
compare to the FT60. I have only heard great things about all of the Polar
watches so I’m sure which ever one you go with you will love!

  7. Ahhh that sounds incredible and close enough to me I could have
participated! Will keep on the look out for others coming up this year.

  8. What size strap are you? I’m 31″ and I’m afraid that the m/xl strap will be
too big the xs/s strap will be too tight!

  9. Hey, thanks for the review! I have some questions, tho: 1) Can you leave
the heart rate monitor on for the whole day, and it continues to count your
calories and fats spent during all that time? 2) Have you tried to upload
your data to the online service? I red that this item has the option, and
it looks pretty interesting, if you want to look at your long term goals
and your workout intensity later and make plans etc. Any experiense?

  10. It was the Coosa River Challenge in Wetumpka, Al. It had a trail run,
mountain bike and Kayak legs with challenges mixed in. My favorite was
probably rappelling. I videoed a bunch of clips of the race if you would
like to see. watch?v=3aB-DW3Besc I know I, love looking after a great
workout to see what kind of number I burned. 🙂

  11. ..to ask you if it is worth getting if I already have the nike+ sensor and
fitness App!? Would it be more accurate when running? I know that the nike+
app doesn’t take into consideration the gradient so would the heart rate
monitor make up for this? Thank you x

  12. Comes with the chest strap! (At least I can say that for sure about the
    FT40)

  13. Wow a review with actual substance, I have a heart rate monitor that I’ve
not been using, this video has helped me understand the benefits thanks.

  14. The Fitness Test you take while laying down for a few minutes and it
calculates an approximate VO2 based on your resting heart rate. VO2 is a
general indicator for how efficient your body uses oxygen. I read how they
developed this test and it has a high accuracy rate (traditional V02
testing is done in a lab and costs a lot!)

  15. I have not tried it for swimming but I did read that it is suitable to swim
    in!

  16. I have read of other’s leaving the monitor on for a full 24 hours just to
see what their daily caloric expenditure is (but it doesn’t count fats!) I
have not tried out the online service but I’m definitely going to look into
    it now!

  17. Hey so would you say its worth the extra money to buy the ft60 or the ft40
works just as good because i have friends who have the ft4 but i see there
is a ft7 model for it. Just want to know what i buy will be worth it

  18. Hi Erika, Quick question. I am stuck between the FT40 and the FT60. Do you
really know the main difference between the two? Have you thought to try
the FT60 and if not, why? Thanks!
