Recently converted to Coros… vintage. At the beginning of the month I bought an Apex 46 and now the Vertix 1 Spacetraveler. Full-proof reliability and simple, understandable metrics. Love your job. Best luck to you
Just bought the Vertix – wanted battery life, and now maps can be added. I hope it works out for me – not a runner etc, just an outdoor hiker and antler hunter not wanting to get lost in the woods!!! Plus, wanted the waterproof and durability. Thanks for your reviews.
I chose a Coros Vertix because of its minimalist feature set, accurate gps, long battery life, rock solid build quality and have been absolutely satisfied with it. For me the standout feature was its lack of cellular or WiFi. As an owner of an iphone and iPad, the last thing I want is to have to pay for yet another Cellular line. And being an apple user, having to double up on apps and subscriptions because of google/android on my watch is another hard pass for me. And though I thought the hard case was a nice touch, and I use it to store personal items while traveling on road trips, I do see your point about added cost and agree that the vertix would be more competitive in a crowded market if it’s price were reduced to better reflect its more spartan offering, and ditching the novelty case would help achieve that
I find it funny that you got those ice-axes in the background all the time but never mention anything climbing specific in your reviews.
As a fact I’m looking for a smartwatch usable for mountaineering and always am hopeful you would say something in that direction, but in the end i get disappointed. With all your knowledge on smartwatches I would love to see some information besides running. However keep up, for what you’re doing you’re doing great!
Which color way is this vertix? Dark rock or space traveler
Greetings from Malaysia. After a few months of researching (and saving up), I bought a Coros Vertix. Believe it or not, it's my first fitness watch despite having to be actively in trail runs, obstacle runs and a few road runs (I must be crazy to go on for such runs without a monitored HR). So far, I'm loving it and you have nailed all the reasons why I bought it 🙂 The best review of Coros Vertix!
Not the same price, fenix 6 pro with titanium bazel and sapphire glass 899…
Superb review
Thank you, but I think you should go deeper because you know how explain everything very well
I bought the Vertix like maybe a year ago, this watch got me with the rugged look and the premium materials but the turning point to buy it over the Garmin Phoenix 6 or any other watch for that matter was because the outstanding temperature features that give stable battery up to under -20 degrees celsius and up to 60+ degrees celsius. Also it was a bit cheaper than the Garmin, i guess we have different prices here than the US.
Oh and also i forgot to mention that Coros unintentionally made their customers to buy new battery cables and make even more profit out of it, since we all forget where we left them the last time we charged the watch.
Appreciate the review. I have also looked at polar grit x. I am currently looking for a watch with longer battery life for 100 mile ultra. Price is not that much of a factor however I am trying steer away from garmin. So polar grit x vs coros vertix? The build quality seems better with the coros. Perhaps software better w/ polar. Thoughts?
The battery life is my main interest. All my fitness doesn't need GPS.
I just want general smart watch hr monitor sleep recorder with notifications I don't have to plug in every single night.
And the smart watches I've had /have you start on the verge of running out of batteries after just one day.
any more thoughts on these watches ? what about touch screen ? it mentions it on the site but … nobody talks about it …
Also.. you have NO maps available on the watch itself ?
Its already a few months past the release so any more insights ?
Thanks for super review. I have watched and read probably all review but still looking for these answers. 1.What about burnt calories accurancy. Can you rely on it ? 2. If you go out of your phone range and watches lost bluethoot connections, will it than automatically connect back with notifications properly working etc ? I know some garmin have issues with it. 3. Are you able to delete notifications directly from watches ? Will it delete notifications on phone as well and other way around ? I know polar and suunto do have this possibility and i founf it usefull. Thank for support. Much appreciated. Have a beautiful day ?
Gorgeous trail at 4:36 – where is that?
I had the suunto Spartan ultra and mtn I have the apex pro, and it is incredible. the battery is perfect, sapphire glass, titanium bezel, cardio sensor. And all that for 500 frs. the app connects to the watch quickly. One of the best watches right now
dollar 150 too much
I had it in my cart on their site…but the price vs. the features of the Fenix 6 Pro and a slightly lower price…well, I'm typing this with the Fenix 6 Pro on my wrist. The mapping features of the Fenix also won me over as I spend alot of time, like you, in the backwoods either trail running, climbing or MTB'ing. Maybe the next time around I'll give COROS a shot…thanks for this review!
So, it's $600 because the box is $100? LOL
I really wish Coros would add music capability. That is my only set back in getting one. I like that I can get that on Garmin's premium line up. So nice to go run and not worry about lugging along my phone.
Great review! I am however puzzled as to why the german amazon site doesn't offer the Vertix, they have the Apex but that's about it.
